Sounds like a good day! Will need to try and get over some time, its not much long for us to get to the west than it is to go to St Andrews, as long as we don't hit traffic around Glasgow.

Hi Owain,
If Glasgow is mobbed the best way is to cut-off the M8 and head past Belshill, cross M74 to East Kilbride then take the new southern bypass to hit the M77. Then it's down to Kilmarnock to take A71/A78 to Stevenston. Motorway/dual carriageway all the way.
Cheers
Steve

Cheers Steve, chances are Judith would have taken us that way anyway She is a much better navigator than me!
Would you guys prefer Troon or Stevenston for a C&R meet?

Hi owain,
LOL! Women better navigators ?!? Only joking Judith ......... you can give me a slap and teach this cheeky old bu**er how to navigate in my buggy when we meet
Personally, I reckon Stevenston (Ardeer) is a better bet than Troon as it has that huge grassy area (which is usable in any wind) if the tide is in or the wind isn't onshore. At least that gives us options. To be honest, we use the grassy area 99% of the time as the beach isn't as dry/flat as St. Andrews and we don't all have the full wet gear, dry-suits, etc.
Obviously, I'll go with the consensus if there are reasons why Troon is more attractive.
Cheers
Steve

The reason I was thinking about Troon was because I havent been kiting there before however the hills and pavements of Stevenston are amazing fun with a good wind
Don't get me started on the beach at Stevenston, not my idea of fun flying my kite that close to a barbedwire fence

I hear you Owain. I had a bad experience with an old Blade 4.9 and a bank of razor wire at Pendine many years ago. Luckily te kite survived unscathed.
