West Sands, St Andrews.

This is probably the busiest location on the east coast of Scotland for kiting.

West Sands has a dedicated kite zone at the far end of the beach and this is where all the kiting takes place.

The beach can be used in all wind directions with an onshore coming from the East, unfortunelty, an easterly is rare. The predominant wind is a westerly which can be gusty at times but never unusable.
When the tide is in there is a grass area which can be used for kiting but please do not use the road as this could lead to the kiting community loosing St Andrews.

TK can be found at the beach most weekends so look out for either a cream campervan with the TK flag flying from it or a silver subaru legacy estate which has TK logos all over it.

Heading up to St Andrews early tomorrow as the wind is due to be easterly, its a bit on the light side but might give the water a go

Hopefuly I shall be out, the wind has been a little more than the forecast recently and windfinder is predicting 16mph, should be good for your 13M O. I shall flatten out my 12M with little more 5th line tention and give it a shot, should be mint.

Right, just leaving the now. Should be in St Andrews in about an hour by the time I have stopped and got some lunch....

Wind was a bit strange today, felt clean and strong until you put anything up. Still, was good to get through again.
Puds, good news. Your kite has almost returned, I gave it to O today

He he I love that skimboard, got going in that o so small breeze today. However there is a four inch tear in my wetty as I fell in shallow water. Will wetsuit glue fixe that or will it be covered in the mystic gurantee?

Ye, cracking day, everyone missed the best of the breeze, 19mph this morning and was clean onshore Then everyone arrived and it dropped to about 10 - 13mph.....still got some nice jumps in though.

Not sure about the wetty Tom, maybe worth contacting Mystic and they might repair it for you.

righto, wed evening is looking sweet if it holds. windfinder has it for 14knot easterlies. i bet its a bit higher.
