Large Boy on a rope needed! 4 Years, 5 Months ago

Sorry that came out wrong, what is actually needed is a relatively large Buoy on a lenghth of rope...
Was thinking that one of these days I is gonna impale myself on that anchor that is in the sand at largo bay when the tide is in, so was thinking that it should be marked in some way. Maybe a buoy or a flag on a large stick that would stay visible when the tide is in.
We should be able to find a buoy washed up on the beach somewhere and a bit of rope......keep your eyes peeled.
Also some way of marking those nasty stakes that are near the anchor would be good.
Failing that, has anyone got a small JCB that we could remove the above objects with?
Just a thought.

Why not contact the local council and tell them about your concerns, explain that the beach is used a lot by kite surfers.
You never know, they might remove it for you or make it visable at high tide.
Use the health and safety example, if they are seen as preventing an accident before it happens then this can be good for the council.

was only joking, I will look into the council option, but I think us marking it asap would be a good Idea as the cooncle will take ages.

The other option is to get a marker ourselves, which is attached to the anchor and contact the council to tell them we have done this but continue to ask if they could remove it or see if they have any other ideas.
The hardest part we have found when talking to councils is getting hold of the correct person and then explaining to them what it is we do.

Spoke to a very nice lady in the Environment section of the cooocle and told her all about it. She is going to contact the person who is in charge of the beach and tell them about it. I also mentioned the water quality including some of its nice floaty things, and the general poor condition of the beach. She seemed to think that they couold give the beach a good clean, especially as I had told here that there are more than 20 folk who regularly use the beach for kitesurfing and windsurfing.
Will keep you all updated.

Your probably right.
Cornwall was awsome, no wind and not much surf, but did get a good bodyboarding sesh in. Strange, after coming out of the water down there my wetsuit smelled really clean and really reminded me of how filthy shell really is!

Have to agree....I left my wetsuit in my van for two days, then I got back in the van and the smell was unreal........had to get my mother -in- law to fetch it out and wash it down..........
