The board on my 16" freestyle ds gave up the ghost in September, this was a combination of some heavy landings and some pies, well, lots of pies really.
Anyway, my lovely Mrs bought me a new replacement board for my birthday .
Today was the first day that I got to use it. I went doon the park early and the wind was just about right, south westerly about 15 mph and clean. The wind swung round to a more southerly direction and that's when I got prawned, I was static and whipped the kite (blade 4.9) round to do a 180 turn and go, the 180 went well but the go part was a bit quicker than expected ie: superman quick. Landed heavily on my shoulder and knee and I made a urghhhhaggrhhrhr kinda sound as well, might have been aggrhhrhrurghhhh, can't remember. Tried to fly about ten minutes later and although I could hold the kite when it was above me, turning was bloody sore. I Packed up, went home and had a pie.

The one thing I did find out about the new deck is that I tend to bounce a bit more when landing.

Not much better today, I suppose when you get to my age it will take longer to heal (does it Bill?)

James got spanked by a 2m buster and ended up in hospital to get checked over. It was a while ago now....it wasnt a reference to that James but thanks for bringing it up again
