I know its not kite related but does anybody indulge in a little downhill on there boards?

Im asking cos i need to find some longer runs, i had a wee session yesterday in the park in Forres. As fun as it was i need something a bit longer.

Anyone know of large grass fields with an incline?

Kitehighland, i see you post on atbsports, have you got any recommendations? Around Moray would be good.

the park in Forres is quite nice for gentle runs on the dirtsurfer but not very exciting. Someone was saying yesterday about some purpose built tracks near Inverurie. Designed for mountain board but get used a bit by bikers too... should be pretty cool for the dirtsurfer I reckon.

Maybe we could organise a meet there for a no wind day

There is a track near Inverurie, but its all overgrown. I spoke to the lad that used to run it and he hasnt had time this year (nor the interest cos of a break in and vandalism)

I might have found a place in Quarrelwoods in Elgin. Will need a bit of work but should be alot of fun. Dont know what it would be like on a Dirtsurfer though.

There is also a track in Perth thats still used but thats a hell of a trek. Plus you have Nairn and Hopeman skate parks, once again though i dont think they will be suitable for Dirtsurfers.

aye the place near inverurie has been closed for years but was a nice downhill track (when the landrover worked)
the hill in forress is really nice and we will be back there soon for an evening play - maybe set up some slalom courses and get my mini ramp going.
as for skate parks - nairn is scary (fast concrete), never seen hopeman but the ramps at inverness were nice on an atb, other skateparks i think are now gone at drumnadrochit and forress. i know of lots of mtb suitable areas north of inverness.
perth is also nice (but short)

on sunday when i went back to Balmedie, I think i saw a grass-skiing center on the left hand side of the A90 about 3miles north.

better at the hill in foress. if we get a bunch of us there we will have a laugh i reckon.

the hill is ok for mountainboard too dave - should get enough speed for some jumps of the ramp

I gave a couple of the little bits of single track coming down from nelsons tower a go as well. They were scary!!!!

Ill try to check out this bit in Quarrel woods today and give a review later.

I would be up for a downhill meet in forres though, just say when.
