Anyone got any opinions on this? Seems like a great price, I wasn't even considering getting a board but is this worth the money just to get some wheels to go with my kite??

Yup, looks like a reasonable quality board, Hyline have been at it for as long as MBS and Mongoose so I dont think there'll be any issues with quality, 39" is the average length longer board (35" is the average shorter board) but I used a 39" length board for years to start with before I moved onto a shorter one to get quicker spins. Other than that the length will help with stability.
Bindings look like average velcro bindings, they do the job, some people like them, others are a bit weird and want MBS F3s or nothing else
Trucks are channel trucks so will be good for speed as well, you trade that and the strength for the extra weight you'll gain with it.
All in all a decent board to start off, not an all out freestyle machine, but not 100% perfect for speed either, a bit of an all rounder (slightly geared more to going quick).
Just back in from my first foray into landboarding - no mud, tears or bruises sad: I can see this is going to take a bit of getting used to! Love the board though ...... just needing some smooth winds to ease the learning curve.

Funny you should say that Ranald, last Sunday is the first time I've ever actually managed to a) stand on one without falling off, b) managed to make a board move while using the kite to power me! and to top it all it was going up hill!
Now the fact it was a trooper I'm not worried about as I'm never going to be able to afford a kite big enough to get me off the ground  might even give it a try another time when there's sod all wind to do any buggying.

When I first thought of kiting I wanted to learn to fly with the intention of buggying, and the videos of freestyle boards had little appeal. Now I begin to see the rising cost of this new hobby, the cheap board seemed like a good way of getting wheels to go with the kite. It looks like it could be loads of fun, Tom, and I am lucky enough to have large areas to use it without the kite, but I couldn't ever go a skateboard ..... so what am I thinking about?? When out today I found myself thinking how hard it was to learn to go a bike, so this can't be any different ...... I hope!!!
Why do all the videos of landboarders show the fancy tricks of the riders, but give me no clue what they are doing with their kites????
Did the Kite landboarders learn to ride the mountain board withouy a kite first or should I just get all the kit out and get on with it??

It might be worth just having a quick run or 5 down a local hill (Doesnt have to be steep or fast) just to get used to the feel of the board turning, but other than that just give it a go, as long as you've got the kite control and arnt crashing constantly you'll do fine.
