Just read four quick reviews on racekites, all positive.
The gist seems to be that it doesn't have much pop or flex, but is good for a beginner on a budget.

How cheap is "really cheap"? if you don't mind (as it is an older version), and is there any chance of you trying it out before you commit to buying it?

Better to risk breaking your neck than to never look up at the sky.

Yup, I'd agree with the review comments Anneski pulled out, I've riden one on occasion and seen them about quite a bit, they do the job perfectly well for a beginner, as long as your not excessively tall (ie have an unusually wide stance) or have larger than average feet (people with 11/12s or bigger may struggle because of the proximity of the wheels).

Other than that its a reasonably solid board that'll get you going, and you can always upgrade the deck at a later time to a trampa etc. if you felt like it.
