Looking for good beaches ... West coast/Islands 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Got a week off work, week after next (after school Easter hols, so should be quieter) and thought I take off in the van and head up the west coast. Either heading for north of Knoydart or Lewis. Has anyone buggied on the beach at Uig Bay or Tolsta Beach (north of Stornoway)? Any other recommendations for good beaches.

If you're over on lewis, its a bit of a drive, but Luskentyre (on harris) at low tide is a beautiful beach for a wander or buggying

Drop Angus a PM about Lewis, he will be able to recommend beaches over on the west coast. We have been and had a great time playing over at Reef on the grass (maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=Isle+...818&t=h&z=14) O.

Cheers Kev, last time I was on Lewis (cycling not kiting), I recall Seilebost being a bit of a slope and soft sand, certainly nearer the shore. Also the inland section looking quite wet with the river meandering through it, but cheers for the recommendation (have you tried it for buggying?).
