PKD lines...... Weird!!! 1 Year, 7 Months ago
I've just inherited a PKD kite from a friend but know nothing about it except that I suspect it's a 2.5m the problem is the power lines bridle is a bit different and was all messed up when I got it.

At the end of the bridle there's about 4 knots spaced out and at the furthest knot a sliding knot that attaches the bridle lines to the centre of the kite. It looks like to get it to fly correctly you need to pinch the bridle line back on it's self and attach the power lines over the 2 knots at once.

Does anyone know if this is right as it looks weird when it's done and doesn't feel quite right in the air, has a little trouble lifting off!

Any advice greatly appreciated!!!

Don't know how PKD kites at rigged, someone else will be along shortly who will know as there's plenty of people that fly them. However, manuals can be downloaded here;-

PKD website

Unfortunately, they're in german.

Best bet though if you're not sure is ask someone to have a look at it next time you're down the park. Best way to learn is to ask questions, as you've already discovered we are friendly bunch.

PKD fit a trim system to some of there kites which lets you adjust the amount of power to suit the wind speed, adjust the angle of attack. This sound like that system, your best best shoudl be to attach your lines like normal, then move the slidding knot to as close to the middle as you can get(make both sides the same).
Launch kite see how it flys(should be better if not, move the slidey bit, on both sides, a bit closer to the kiteor vice versa til it feels right)

might help.....

If memory serves me right on my Buster it's the 2nd Knot from the bottom for "normal" conditions.

Yeah it might look a bit weird at first but if you look at it sensibly you'll be able to tell if it's tangled or not. By moving the main knot you can adjust the kite's angle of attack.

My buster is currently sitting on the 2nd knot from the handle end but I haven't had it out in good enough conditions to assess it flying properly.
Had it out yesterday in not enough wind and had a minor laundrybag tangle which was really easy to get out because of the colour-coding

There'll be a stack of folks up at St. Andrews today for the SPKA Summer meet, so why not pop over. Put a face to some of the names and get your bridles sorted.

You might want to get your lines checked at the same time...

PKD Buster (older models) lines are prone to 'stretching' -- an easily fixed problem...
