Don't know if this should be in this section.

Using your kite to jump. This is the 1st time i have had a kite over 5m.
Think everyone thinks this is a safe size to jump with and not come down to hard in the right wind.

For myself and some of the new people on the forum how many different ways are there to kite jump and how safely.

The most common is taking the kite to one side of the wind window, then you run in that direction but bring the kite hard over the top of your head in the opposite direction, this should cause lift and up you go
Same idea is used when buggy or land board jumps...you go in one direction and then through the kite behind you.....

As Owain Said, Put the kite to one edge, then face the kite, run in an arc out and throw the kite back across the top, once its going across the top though let it fly straight over, as opposed to keeping the turn on, otherwise you'll drop the kite down too low or even kiteloop it, not something you want to do yet. Once your in the air, bring it back towards the direction you started at so as it keeps a bit of lift and lands you gently.

What make / model of kite are you using Syri? As this can make a difference on technique too...

ok out tonight with 7m Blurr.
Off on hols soon no bug just taking kites as beach is 200 yards from cottage.

So if i start at about 2 o'clock & send kite to 11 o'clock then run back & redirect kite to right is that it.

Down park tonight had place to self 3 times size of Stevo but has trees.
I had kite on ground at about 5 o'clock straight up to 11 o'clock & it pulled me off my feet.

When I wanted to jump I've found this:chris.m.whittaker.googlepages.com/pendulumjump helpful
However the size makes difference to how floaty the landing is, the proper redirection is the key I think.
