TOPIC: I want to fly.

I want to fly. 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Quick Intro.

My name is Gregor, I'm 23, and live in Fife, Scotland. I wanted to do some kite surfing lessons about a year ago possibly, but I always felt that it was a bad idea as I'm not really supposed to be submerged in water due to ear problems. I also have terrible balance due to my previous ear problems too, and this discouraged me in a sense.

I was watching videos lately on you tube of some guys just using a power kite on land and literally jumping 20ft which looked pretty fun to be honest, I felt it would be perfect for myself to give it a shot. I have asked about lessons on here today so I imagine I will get a reply within a few days.

As I've never really looked at this before except browsing over old threads I don't know too much and have no experience at all. I realise I would have to buy a 3m kite (I'm 6ft2, and 14 stone) probably some pads to protect myself and some kite killers too possibly.

I've not really shopped around or anything yet, I'm going to have a quick look at the moment and see what sort of price I'm talking. I imagine I will be paying around £400ish for my kite, pads, kite killers, a lesson, windmeter, clothing possibly.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hello and hopefully I can learn from all of you kiters!

Hi Gregor,
Replied to your email.

£400 would be the max I would be looking to pay to get in to the sport, the kites we usually recommend are the PKD Busters for getting in to the sport and we teach with the 2m on a regular basis, really great kites and not too expensive either.

Welcome to the forum and ask any questions you may have and someone will be able to answer them
