What sort of tyre pressures do you guys run with on what surfaces? What do you find suits best? Obv the more pressure the harder the tyre and lower rolling resistance meaning more speed, do you run with the same pressure in your tyres on the hard sandy beaches as you would on a grassy field? Do you even check your tyre pressures or just stick a bit more air in them when they start feeling soggy! I've found my landboard really slow on grass so was going to pump my tyres up nice and solid but wasnt sure how far to go! Would be interesting to find out what sort of things other people do with their boards...

My tyres say inflate to 50psi but following advice from on here I've inflated mine to 35ish.

i pump mine to about 40psi ish, but really its personal preferance. harder tyres are good for solid sand and grass but a bit soft are nicer for softer sand and for a bit more comfortable landings

i pump min e to the hardest that the rim will allow - 35 for scrubs, 40/50 for most others and 100 for my manhicks.the board should have enough flex to absorb a bad landing so in my eyes get those tyres hard for improved speed.

This is a good question and I will include it in the FAQs section of the new site.

So my question is, what is a standard answer? Pump as hard as the rims / tyres will allow for improved speed and less rolling resistance and allow some air out of the tyres for softer surfaces i.e. soft sand OR is there another answer.
You're help with an answer would be great guys. Thanks.

the recommended pressure for my tyres is 50psi, when I pump to that pressure I find the ride to be way too harsh so I always drop a bit of pressure out until I feel a bit more comfortable. There is no doubt that it aids speed and if thats you thing then go ahead.

I would always adviie to go with the recommended pressure on the sidewall of the tyre though.

Any stated pressure on the side wall of a tyre is the Maximum safe pressure for the tyre, not necessarily what is most suited to any specific requirement.

to be honest i have found changing pressure for softer sand is a waste of time, if the sand is that soft then buggy or dirtsurf on it instead.

I think from what some of you have said I'm gonna try mines hard as possible see if it makes any big odds with the speed, in theory it should let you board a bit quicker. I've got a Scrub board and my tyres are rated at 36psi max so will put them up to that and see if it rolls any better on the grass. I'm not doing any massive jumps or anything at the moment so I'm not worried about absorbing impact from landings.

a wee tip for you with scrubs - check all the bolts holding the hub together and the main bolt keeping the wheel on, and if you intend taking the wheels off for any reason then let the tyres down first as these hubs have been known to fail at this point.
