TOPIC: Next Kite??

Next Kite?? 5 Years, 4 Months ago
Looking for some collective advice here folks - and I know Owain is going to say PKD or Ozone - but where should I be looking for my next kite?? I'm looking for something that I can get out when the wind is just too pathetic for the 2m Buster, but in the long term something for a buggy. Given the beaches up here I am pretty sure freestyle buggying is going to be my route ....... so bring on the advice!!

get a PKD or an Ozone

there see Owain ain't the only one who will recommend them

maybe something in the 5m area would be of use.

Plus i guess if your thinking freestyle you could also consider a Blade of any particular vintage (apart from the Mk1's, if only from the age of them)

lol, I would say PKD and Ozone just because I know the kites so well, but I also know the the new ranges from Flexi are good but I havent flown them so cant recommend them from an experienced point of view. There is also HQ, they seem to be making better kites now but again, only flown the Crossfires and I wouldnt recommend it as a second kite...more of an advanced kite.

Plenty of good brands out there

The larger PKD Buster IIs are good kites, so are the PKD Brooza's and for very good prices, the Ozone Fury or Samurai again are both very good buggy engines, as Paul said, if you are looking to get in to freestyle then maybe a Blade or Ozone Riot (be careful!). Something in the 5m range would do you nicely, and then you will start to ask, "What kite to do me when the 5m is too much but the 2m isnt enough Before you know it you will have *cough* a lot of kites

Looks like it's a 5m Buster then. Any word on availability Owain?? Not going to be in too much of a rush anyway until the bank balance looks healthier, but I suspect I was really lucky getting the 2m as quick as I did. The forecast isn't very promising up here for the next few days so I suppose it's back to housework and gardening to finish my holiday and then back to work. )

for freestyle, you require a slight bit of lift, and from an experienced point. busters aint got any
their smashing for learning to do skids an wheelies etc tho. but dont expect to be doin amazing things with them, their good for learning tho, but to continue into advanced freestyle you will need more 'oomph' than a buster can really give.
