Those who know me well will know that I love good food and hate bad service, it takes a lot to impress me so you will understand how highly I rated the Plockton Shores Restaurant when I say I was completely blown away by the food, service and setting, what a place! Sitting next to the Plockton Shores Stores on the waterfront this cosy little restaurant had around 40 covers and when we visited on Sunday 3rd April at 7.30 it was about 75% full. The decor is tasteful and restful and the service was first class. The food was absolutely delicious, expertly cooked and beautifully presented. The menu choice was excellent and supplemented by a mouth-watering choice of specials.
We had a smoked fish stack and a scallop starter, a lamb and duck main, marmalade cake and lime pie desert, 2 coffees, 2 Drambuie’s and a bottle of wine, all for £80. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the meal was faultless.
I can honestly say it’s one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
We also ate in the Plockton Hotel and the Plockton Inn. Both were of an extremely high standard but the Plockton Shores was outstanding. If you’re visiting the area you will be spoilt for choice for excellent eating establishments. The Plockton Shores will definitely be a restaurant that i will be revisiting soon.
