We arrived with high hopes after a lovely lunch the day before.
The restaurant is very smart and obviously newly decorated.
Short menu but looked inviting.
Owain had a mushroom, tomato and coriander starter which was very strange and disappointing
I ordered a sirloin steak which came only with creamed shallots, it was a disappointing small 6oz steak and at £14.50 not value for money.
A side salad was £2.50 and consisted of a handful from a pre packed salad bag consisting mainly of radicchio my least favourite salad leaf!
Owain had the Colonsay burger with coleslaw and homemade chips which again we felt was not worth the £10.50 cost
As a dessert I chose a pink Rhubarb fool, sounded lovely, tasted foul. Maybe there had been a miss spelling on the menu!
The lack of sugar in the rhubarb had begun to curdle the cream.
Not once were we asked if everything was all right with our food even when the waitress could see that I had hardly touched my dessert.
Incredible disappointing and not cheap, £35 and we still had to go home and make supper!
